McGregor Christmas.

Another day, another Christmas tradition! On this Sunday we headed to McGregor, Texas, to celebrate Christmas with Papa's side of the family.

(This photo stolen from Kelly! Thanks, Kelly!)

Brett's cousin Dana and Dana's wife, Becky, had a houseful over for lunch. It was great to see them and to visit with Aunt Velma. But oh, how we miss Aunt Norma!

After lunch Katie treated us to a flute mini-recital. It's hard to believe she's only been playing since September!

That afternoon we also got to take our traditional post-lunch walk around the neighborhood. This year we came across this old ball field.
I was fascinated with the thick stone walls and the ticket booths.
I loved the old windows, too!
The walls are made up of six or more different types of rock/stone. It was cool to see all the colors and textures blending together.

I just knew this had been a Depression-era project, and sure enough, we found a marker: "National Youth Administration: 1937-1938."
From there we walked back by the Lutheran Church.
I just love this building! Every time we're in McGregor, I'm compelled to photograph it—again.
It was so good to see Dana and his family and to celebrate Christmas in Papa's hometown!
